What is applied for you, and what is not
Across the ten findings this check measured on five real documents, some were mechanical and the rest needed a person — missing headings, missing slide titles, and link text that has to describe where it goes. Docaccess applies the mechanical fixes — alternative text you approve, a marked table header row, the document title and its language — only after you approve each one, and flags the rest for you. It does not correct a document automatically.
What this is not
It is not a certification and not a determination of legal compliance with the ADA, Section 508, WCAG, or any other standard. It reads the document's structure; it cannot determine reading order, whether an image is decorative, or text placed over an image. A document with no findings is not a guarantee that it is accessible. This version reads Word .docx and PowerPoint .pptx; PDF files are not read.

Single document check and fix
Your first document check is free and includes the whole loop — the measurement, the fixes you approve, the corrected file, the re-check that proves the count dropped, and the dated record — for one document up to 25 MB. One free check is allowed per email address and it is recorded on our side. After that, a $19 credit covers another document's full loop. Credits do not expire, and your documents and remaining credits stay on a private list we email you.
Questions
- Which file types can I check?
- Word .docx and PowerPoint .pptx in this version, up to 25 MB per document. PDF files are not supported, and the check does not pretend otherwise.
- Does it change my document automatically?
- No. Every proposed fix is shown with the element it touches and the before and after, and is applied only when you approve it. A fix you reject stays visible as an open finding.
- Is a clean report the same as an accessible document?
- No. The check reads the file's structure and finds a subset of barriers. Reading order, whether an image is decorative, and text placed over an image cannot be determined from the file. A document that reports no findings is not a guarantee that it is accessible.
- When do you refund?
- Two verifiable conditions. If we fail on our side — the credit is not issued, the credit notice cannot be delivered, the run errors, or the corrected file is never produced — the payment is refunded automatically. If our logs show the credit was never used and no record from it was ever opened or downloaded, contact support and we refund it. There is no deadline for that second condition, because unused credits do not expire. A document that was checked and delivered, and whose record you opened, is the product, delivered. The Terms set out both conditions.
- Can I attach the record to a client deliverable?
- Yes. Each document gets a dated record on our domain naming what was measured, on what, when, what was found at element level with the WCAG criterion for each finding, and what could not be determined. It states plainly that it is not a legal determination of compliance, so it can be attached without implying a certification.
